Majority of veterinaries in Taiwan are still using paper logs to keep track of medical records.

Even with the increasing adoption of digital veterinary management system, there is still a majority of veterinary still using paper logs. While human healthcare in Taiwan is rapidly moving toward standardized electronic health records, the veterinary sector has not yet reached a unified national digital framework. As pet ownership increases and technology usage grows, platforms that integrate mobile health tracking, owner-entered data, and AI diagnostics (in some international cases) are beginning to influence how vet practices view data collection — though adoption in Taiwan is still emerging.

The challenge?

Starting small with an app that allows pet owners to easily keep track of their pets' health records even when given paper records by veterinary.

Reflections

  1. Start small and simple, don't over-complicated the product concept. Focus on one feature at a time.

  2. Always start with paper before going into pixel, drawing out ideas help turning fragmented ideas into a solid one.

  3. Design user flows based on the user’s perspective, not personal assumptions.
