Lando's Menu Icon
I recreated the menu icon from the Formula 1 driver Lando Norris's website. The design is so good it went viral in web design community.

Interactive design is not about movement—it’s about feedback.
Seeing the menu icon on Lando's website for the first time was one of those moments that immediately sparks creative curiosity — the motion was so smooth and considered that I knew I had to dig in and try to recreate it myself. That instinct led me to Rive, a tool I'd been wanting to explore, and this became the perfect excuse to jump in.
The core challenge was working out the logic behind a hamburger menu icon that feels genuinely satisfying to interact with — where the open and close states aren't just functional, but have a personality to them. Getting the timing, easing, and state transitions to behave correctly took more careful thinking than it might appear from the outside, which is often the nature of motion work that looks effortless when done right.
The animation is currently working smoothly, though there is one aspect of the interaction logic I haven't fully resolved yet — a known limitation I'm continuing to work through. It's a good reminder that motion design, much like any craft, is as much about problem-solving as it is about aesthetics, and this project has been a valuable exercise in both.
